The Junior and Senior School is seeking to recruit a high calibre PA to the Senior Management, to be based in Nicosia.

Job Description:

Manage and maintain multiple diaries, coordinating meetings and scheduling; set up meetings including attendees and provide general administrative and support services for the Principal and the Headteachers of the Junior and Senior School

Provide an administrative service to include the convening of meetings, preparation of agendas and papers and documents. Your attendance will be required at Full Board Body and Committee Meetings, which are held monthly, including some early evenings where you will prepare and circulate agendas, take minutes, handle correspondence, deal with sensitive and confidential issues and co-ordinate appeal panels and hearings.

Ensure that the systems are fully robust and effective in helping the Principal, Headteachers and the governors to fulfil their statutory responsibilities.

Liaise with the Ministry of Education and Culture regarding any competitions that may concern students and circulars that may concern the school.  

To maintain a training register and a list of external training opportunities and administer the booking process with the provider. Organise agreed and appropriate training and record such training as well as the induction and training of new governors.

You may also be required to undertake other duties of an appropriate level and nature as and when requested by the Principal, Headteachers of the Junior and Senior School and the Governors.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3 years previous PA/EA experience
  • Proficient knowledge of English and Greek (written and spoken)
  • Advanced IT skills, including advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good typing skills (at least 50 wpm)
  • Minute taking
  • A good understanding of the business or a strong interest in building this knowledge

The Junior and Senior School is seeking to recruit a high calibre School Counsellor, to be based in Nicosia.

Job Description:

The position is responsible for offering a confidential counselling service for students, individually and/or in groups, responding appropriately to their concerns; to attend and present information at meetings regarding students. Work closely with the pastoral teams to ensure the wellbeing of students, act in a consultancy capacity to offer guidance and support to members of staff in regard to students; and most importantly to ensure good communication with the DSLs and DDSLs in relation to students at risk. 

Assist teachers understand child growth and development, social/emotional needs of children and how they learn. Coach teachers on how to handle conflict resolution and social skills to encourage alternatives to violence.

Work within the codes of practice and ethics recommended by the BACP or equivalent professional organisation and the appropriate legislation of the Republic of Cyprus and to be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to safeguarding and child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and data protection.

Maintain and develop professional practice through regular and ongoing training and clinical supervision and through involvement in service evaluation and auditing and to contribute to the PSHE programme, as required in order to develop strategies for promotion of emotional resilience within the student body.

Keep clear and concise records of all sessions and to provide a termly report to the Principal around the work being done with students and staff and the impact. 

The Counsellor may also be required to carry out other tasks that are relevant to their mission and training and promote the wellbeing of the students.

Requirements

  • Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy
  • Post-graduate diploma / certificate in Counselling or Psychotherapy
  • A Licensed School Psychologist will be considered as an advantage
  • It is essential to have previous school experience in individual counselling with children and/or young people
  • Member of the BACP will be considered as an advantage
  • Proficient IT skills to maintain records, and good communication skills
  • A demonstrable passion and heart for children and families
