The Junior and Senior School

The Junior School

The School you choose for your child is one of the most important decisions you will make as a parent. There are few things which are likely to have more impact on a young person’s future than the quality of the school they attend. We work to ensure that any parent who settles on The Junior School will be pleased with that choice. We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life, and we ensure that all the children who enter our doors get that start.

When facing every decision, our staff ask themselves the following; what’s best for the children and their progress?

We are always seeking to review, revise and improve.

The Senior School

At The Senior School, we welcome our students into our school community. Our aim is to challenge and support each individual child, and develop his or her skills and abilities, so that all students realise their potential, in a well ordered and purposeful learning environment. Every child matters to us.

We expect high standards in both study and behaviour, we expect our students to come in to school and give their best every day.

Our curriculum is based on the National Curriculum of England Key Stage 3 up to the end of Year 9. We then provide the UK 14 to 19 framework with a programme of GCSEs and IGCSEs in Years 10 and 11 and A Levels in the 6th Form.

We also offer a comprehensive Greek programme both to native speakers and those pupils who have other first languages, according to their level of competence. Our Greek curriculum is based largely on the programme prescribed by the Ministry of Education.

In addition, we believe that we offer the best structure of student support of any school on the island. We have a pastoral support team who ensure that all students are happy, safe and making progress; if that is not the case, then methods of intervention, support and review are used. We are a caring school; we don’t simply say that every child matters, we ensure that this is the case.

We develop individuality, and encourage our students to think for themselves and show initiative. We have a broad and innovative curriculum that provides a range of opportunities that enrich the educational experience of each student beyond the classroom, including debate, thinking skills, creative and performing arts and sport.
