Year 1 Routines & Expectations

Could you please make sure that your child’s uniform, P.E kit and lunch boxes, water bottles and bags are clearly labelled.

To help our children to become more independent, we encourage them to begin to become more responsible for themselves, putting their things away, tidying up etc.

Daily Planner

This is a two way communication with parents. The ‘Daily Planner’ travels to and from school daily and parents and teachers send messages when needed.

Please could you check your child’s Daily Planner daily for messages, and sign it at the end of the week.

It is important that children arrive and are collected on time. Even a few minutes late can mean missing an important introduction to work.

The school day is as follows:

  • Children should be in their classrooms at 7:50am.
  • First Break – 9:10am. – 9:35am.
  • Second Break – 11:10am. – 11:25am.
  • Dismissal time is 1:05 pm.
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it
